The passion for providing highly personalized healthcare is embodied in MDVIP-affiliated internist Dr. Daphne Keshishian. As a physician, a mother, a wife and a competitive golfer, Dr. Keshishian understands the importance of living healthy and helping her patients achieve their unique goals. “In my smaller MDVIP practice, I can spend more one-on-one time with each patient to develop a meaningful relationship, and I offer conveniences and availability not possible in a traditional primary care office with thousands of patients,” says Dr. Keshishian.

Over the years of practicing medicine,
I have often written recipes
for patients on prescription blanks
to give them simple recommendations
for how to prepare foods that will benefit
their nutritional health.

MDVIP is a solution to our ever-changing, confusing healthcare system. At MDVIP, patients come first. Dr. Keshishian believes the best medicine requires time – time to listen and time to understand the whole person. Today, it can be difficult to get a timely appointment, and more time is spent waiting for the doctor than talking with the doctor. “I respect patients’ busy schedules by offering on-time, same- or next-day appointments. And my visits last as long as a patient needs to address questions and work together minimizing risk for future illness and better managing chronic conditions,” explains Dr. Keshishian.

The MDVIP approach is proactive rather than reactive by emphasizing prevention, early detection and wellness through individual consultations, comprehensive screenings, family history analysis and advanced diagnostic testing, followed by a tailored wellness plan. MDVIP doctors advocate for their patients, coordinate specialist care and help them navigate a complex medical system.

“I am passionate about helping people form a plan that fits their lifestyle and empowering them with the knowledge and tools to improve their overall well-being and enjoy the healthiest life possible. By truly getting to know patients and equipping them with resources available at their fingertips like MDVIP Connect, their personal health website, we are partners in wellness beyond the walls of an exam room,” says Dr. Keshishian.

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Keshishian is a role model for her patients. Her interests include nutrition and cooking, Pilates, yoga and golf. Her healthy recipes, nutritional suggestions and “celebration of food as medicine” can be found on her blog at Dr. Keshishian is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and a past president of the Georgetown Clinical Society.
