Irwin Stone

Irwin Stone

For more than 70 years, Irwin Stone has been the go-to source for homeowners, contractors, landscapers and masons looking for the best quality and variety of stone products.

Jack T. Irwin founded the company and now two of his grandsons, Brian and Steve Kelly, operate the business. Both started as truck drivers and yard workers, working their way through every aspect of the business to gain the experience and design prospective needed for projects set in stone, both literally and figuratively.

Their commitment to quality products and customer service is evident in the thousands of projects with Irwin Stone that dot the county and beyond. While the company doesn't engage in installation work, it can recommend respected masons and landscapers to handle jobs involving flagstone and stone, building stone, weather wall stone, interlocking pavements and walls, decorative boulders and gravel, custom stone fabrication and natural, thin stone veneer.

WHERE ARE YOU? More than 93,000 acres of upper Montgomery County are reserved for agricultural use, so while scenes like this used to be prevalent throughout the county, there is limited opportunity to capture a perfect spring day for farming. Photograph by Phil Fabrizo

One winner will be randomly selected from all correct answers received by September 10.
Linda Pile of
of Rockville identified the sculpture at the Fallsgrove Village Center. She wins the framed print.
